The popular Bollywood actress is one of the most dangerous online search word in India says a McAfee report.
BANGALORE, INDIA: Katrina Kaif recently became one of the popular and most searched personality over the web in India. Of course, the never-ending media gossip that she had parted ways with Salman Khan, and is getting closer to John Abraham, makes her an even 'hotter' search object.
And this Web trafficking over the Bollywood dame has served as an opportunity for the criminal minds to lay their hands upon.
According to the 'The Web's Most Dangerous Search Terms' report released by McAfee on Wednesday, the popular Bollywood actress is one of the most dangerous online search word in India.
With the maximum risk percentage of 28.6, Katrina ranks second after 'Waptrick,' a website for free downloads of music, ring tones, wall paper, animations and logos for mobile phones.
The other popular key words posing higher risk rate in India also include Orkut, Yahoomail, Shahid Kapur, Rediffmail, 'How to earn money', Namitha, Shimla and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
"Hackers are most successful when they can attract a large number of victims. One way to target big crowds online is to track current events - everything from celebrity meltdowns and natural disasters to holidays and popular music. One key tool cybercriminals use to snare victims is to get them to download a computer file or program that comes with a malicious payload," said the report.
The study conducted by Shane Keats, research analyst, McAfee, Inc. and Eipe Koshy, software development engineer, McAfee, Inc researched more than 2,600 popular keywords to assess the degree of risk for each.
The study confirms that scammers consider popular trends when deciding which victims to target.
This makes common sense. If hackers are now motivated largely by profit, the biggest profits can be wrung from the largest pools of potential victims. And on the web, popular trends and visitor traffic are highly correlated.
The best protection is to install a computer security suite and keep it up to date and to use a safe search tool, concluded the report.
Isn't this dangerous phenomenon an indication of the 'Bollywood' addiction of the India psyche?
'Aishwarya's mastered the art of walking the red carpet'
Her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 was nothing short of a fashion disaster. Seven years later, Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai's walk of poise and elan at the ongoing French festival has left the Indian fashion fraternity raving.
Despite the bevy of Hollywood A-listers gracing the event, Aishwarya proved to be a head turner.
Her choice of an elegant white off-shoulder Roberto Cavalli train gown teamed with a neatly tied bun and simple pearl drop earrings besides a Swarovski box clutch and red peep-toes was a sureshot hit. And a complete throw away from the jarring green sari she wore to the event in 2002, say designers.
"She (Aishwarya) carried the gown really well and looked beautiful. She has great presence that fits her perfectly in the international fashion circuit. She carried off that gown with confidence and walked the red carpet with aplomb," fashion designer Amit GT, famous for his couture gowns, told IANS.
"A lot of people had criticised her when she made her debut at Cannes but hits and misses are a part of life and this time she has proved fashion critics wrong with her impeccable dressing sense," he added.
According to designer Raakesh Agarvwal, also known for creating elaborate gowns, it was Aishwarya's stylist who was to be blamed for her fashion faux pas and not her.
"When she was criticised for her bad dressing sense at Cannes, the person who should have been blamed was her stylist. But I guess now she has learnt the tricks of the trade and is doing really well. It's important to know how to behave with your clothes on the red carpet," he said.
For designer Abdul Halder, Aishwarya, whose dress would have cost nothing less than Rs.5 million as per industry estimates, looked as though she was wearing a "wedding gown minus the veil".
Though the beauty queen-turned-actress exhibited marked improvement in her dressing sense with differently styled gowns at the event every subsequent year post-2002, she scored a perfect 10 with her attire this year.
But her appeal at the event was not just restricted to her clothes, said Agarwal.
"Walking on a red carpet is an art and you can say that she has mastered the art over the period of seven years. Posing rightly for the camera, maintaining eye contact, topped up with a perfect smile is what makes the best red carpet look. One has to learn all these things and then you can look glamorous in anything - that's what Aishwarya has done," he said.
Aishwarya, a regular at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet and L'Oreal brand ambassador, is beginning to reinvent not only her wardrobe but herself too on the global scene.
This year she was at the Cannes as an activist for social and humanitarian causes by lending her name to the International Tribunes Cinema Verite. The Bollywood diva addressed a press conference along with Queen Noor of Jordan Thursday to announce the third edition of the event that will take place later this year in Geneva (Oct 6 to 8) and Paris (Oct 9-10).
Cinema Verite is a special event dedicated to films and social actions that promote human rights and the eight Millennium Development Goals adopted by the UN.

Katrina Kaif joins fans in cheering Royal Challengers
MUMBAI: As the Royal Challengers team battles it out in South Africa, the team got a boost from actress Katrina Kaif, the team’s brand ambassador, at an event organised for the Royal Challengers fans in Mumbai.
Kaif, who is an aficionada of the Red Battalion, joined the fans of the team in Mumbai to cheer the Royal Challengers before its match against the Chennai Super Kings. Katrina applauded the team’s efforts so far and sent her best wishes to the players for all their future matches.
She said, “It has been a great pleasure for me to be a part of Royal Challengers. The team has been performing well this season and I wish them all the best for the rest of the tournament. I would like to thank our fans and enthusiasts for their immense support and undeterred faith in the team and players. I will continue to cheer the Royal Challengers for every match they play.”
Kaif also gave away merchandise, hampers and prizes to the ten lucky fans who won an online and on-ground contest to join her at this event.
United Spirits president, MD VK Rekhi said, “We have a huge fan base here in Mumbai who have supported the Royal Challengers throughout the IPL season. We wanted to offer them an exceptional level of engagement and experience on behalf of the brand. The live match screening with Katrina is to engage the fans and institute a personal communication between them and their favourite team.
"Through this initiative, we also look to invoke more support for the team aligning with Katrina Kaif."
She will be cheering for the Royal Challengers across the country with Mumbai following the screenings in the hometown Bangalore and then Hyderabad.
German sexbomb aims to dethrone Katrina Kaif
Super-busty German model Claudia Ciesla has set her eyes on Hindi film industry and wants to be the next Katrina Kaif of Bollywood. Her advantage – she’s no qualms in shedding clothes
Claudia has already got her foot in the door to Bollywood with an Indo-English movie ‘Karma, Crime, Passion, Reincarnation’. She’s also played a German journalist in a film titled ‘10:10’ by Indian director Arin Paul. The movie was shot in Kolkata.
Now, Claudia is eyeing a career in Bollywood and has begun making inroads into the industry. And she’s not deterred by her linguistic shortcoming. She feels if Katrina Kaif can strike fame in Bollywood, she too can.
A Mumbai tabloid quoted Claudia as saying: “If Katrina can do it, I think anyone can. Look where she came from. She had no knowledge of the language and still she is at the top. I want to be that girl and better. I have all the potential to beat her.”
While Claudia may be a little too ambitious, but given the fact that she’s physically well endowed (the pic says it all), Bollywood producers would certainly try to highlight that aspect in films.
And Claudia seems to have made a perfect start. She is reported to have befriended Salman Khan , who’s known for recommending new girls (particularly the ones who catch his fancy) to Bollywood producers.
Though dethroning Katrina is a long shot, Claudia already seems to be on the way

Akshay, Katrina left without suites
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif ended up in an unusual spot literally.
Revealed a unit source, "While shooting for Ratan Jain's De Dana Dhan, the lead pair of the film Akshay and Katrina were to be shifted to luxurious seven star hotel. The reason being Akshay wanted a hotel which showed the IPL matches. Now Ratan Jain, the big hearted producer that he is, decided to get his entire unit there and not make them feel left out."
He further added, "Now it so happened that while the rest of the cast and crew showed promptness in shifting from their earlier hotel to the new seven star one, Akshay and Katrina somehow ended up reaching late due to prior commitments at the new hotel. But that proved to be their undoing as by the time they had arrived, all the had been allotted to the rest of the cast and crew. Now non of the unit members were willing to let go off their luxurious suites for Akshay and Katrina. This put the poor producer in a fix. But finally somehow adjustments were made and the embarrassing situation was brought to an end."
Akshay Kumar wants only Katrina Kaif
Of all the beautiful babes in Bollywood, Katrina Kaif still remains Akshay Kumar’s number one choice as co-star.
Though Katrina is in the top league of Bollywood actresses today, she is seldom credited for it. Often we hear rants about how Katrina struck fame by cashing in on the popularity of a crowd-puller like Akshay Kumar .
But, may be, it worked the other way round too. That Akshay while being the star to which Kat hitched her wagon also benefited from her as a co-star. How otherwise could one explain Akshay’s failed jodis with the likes of Deepika Padukone and Ayesha Takia in the last two of his releases – Chandni Chowk To China and 8x10 Tasveer respectively.
Now, perhaps Akshay himself has realized that he needs Kat as much she needs him for a successful Bollywood career. For when director Priyadarshan asked Akshay which actress he would like to have in the film De Dana Dan before the movie’s shoot began, Akshay had just one name on his lips.
Your guess is as good as ours.
Of course, today we know that Katrina Kaif is the film’s heroine and has already shot one schedule of the film and is currently filming its second schedule in Singapore. But she may not have landed the role if Akshay hadn’t recommended her to Priyadarshan.
The director confirms that Katrina was signed for ‘De Dana Dan’ after Akshay’s recommendation. He says he’s happy to have made that choice because, in his words, Akshay and Katrina share a “terrific chemistry on screen”.
Well, we all know that.
